THE NEW CITIES JOIN AVRIL LAVIGNE ON THE ‘BLACK STAR TOUR’

(October 3, 2011 – Toronto, ON) – To celebrate the launch of their electric sophomore album Kill the Lights, The New Cities are excited to announce they are joining Avril Lavigne as support on her Canadian ‘Black Star Tour’ beginning today in Vancouver, BC. The tour will take the band across the country to arenas in over a dozen cities. Full list of stops below.

The Montreal band had a busy release week with a live stream of their launch party from their hometown, performances on MuchMusic and Musique Plus, as well heaps of interviews for media around the country. Their first single from Kill the Lights, “Heatwave,” burned up the charts this summer hitting #1 on Musique Plus and already have over 500,000 views on YouTube (watch here). Now the boys are getting ready to launch their second single, “The Hype” on October 11.

Always thinking of new ways to interact with their fans, now you can get even more of The New Cities as they jump off your screen in 3D! Each week the band will be posting new webisodes of TNC 3D on their YouTube page (www.youtube.com/thenewcities), and limited edition 3D glasses can be picked up for free from any HMV.
