Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame releases his second solo record “The Blackbird Diaries. The album is unlike anything he has embarked on during his illustrious 30 year music career both with Eurythmics and as a solo artist. With an American flare and rooted in rock, country, and blues, the album is in the vein of recent releases by Bob Dylan and Neil Young – masterful recordings mixed with rich and detailed lyrics. The album features The Secret Sisters and duets with Martina McBride, Colbie Caillat, Stevie Nicks and a co-write with Bob Dylan.

The debut release from Hugh Laurie is a glorious celebration of New Orleans blues, “Let Them Talk‟ unites Laurie‟s musical talent with a very personal selection of standards and lost blues classics performed with his band of renowned musicians and some very special guest stars.
Produced by Joe Henry and recorded at sessions in Los Angeles and New Orleans, “Let Them Talk‟ sees Laurie on vocals and piano heading a team of musicians whose previous collective credits include work with artists as varied as Greg Allman, Solomon Burke, Robert Plant, k.d. lang, T-Bone Burnett, Alison Krauss and John Legend. Together, they interpret and revive songs originally recorded by NOLA blues legends such as Lead Belly, Robert Johnson, Ray Charles and Memphis Slim. “Let Them Talk‟ also features collaborations with the Soul Queen of New Orleans Irma Thomas and Sir Tom Jones on the little known „Baby, Please Make A Change‟. Thomas also leads the vocals on „John Henry‟, while Laurie‟s lifelong hero Dr. John provides a momentous collaboration on „After You‟ve Gone‟. Another legend, the producer, musician and songwriter Allen Toussaint, contributes horn arrangements throughout.

Barbra Streisand has been a life-long friend of the award winning songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman and has recorded 63 of the Bergman’s songs over the past 50 years. Some of the most notable hits the Bergmans have written for Barbra are “The Way We Were,” “What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” and “How Do You Keep The Music Playing.” Included are the Academy Award-winning song “The Windmills of Your Mind” from the 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair, “So Many Stars” which was a hit for Sergio Mendes & Brazil ’66, “Nice ‘n’ Easy” as popularized by Frank Sinatra, and “That Face” as first recorded by Fred Astaire.

His new recording pays tribute to the life and music of Franz Liszt, whose 200-year-anniversary is celebrated this year. One of the most eagerly anticipated classical releases of the year, the project encompasses an album, a filmed concert and a documentary that will come out on multiple formats. The album Liszt — My Piano Hero features the composer’s Piano Concerto No.1, which Lang Lang recorded with Valery Gergiev and the Vienna Philharmonic. The disc also includes some of Liszt’s most poetic and virtuosic solo piano works and transcriptions such as the Hungarian Rhapsodies Nos.6 and 15, Liebestraum, Grand galop chromatique, the Liszt/Schubert Ave Maria and the famous “La campanella” from Grandes Études de Paganini.

In the making since October 2009, the band retreated to a Kansas studio with producer Josh Wilbur [Lamb of God] to pen the demos that would eventually become Post Mortem. After intense pre-production, they hit a New York studio with Wilbur and GGGarth Richardson [Rage Against the Machine, Mudvayne] in May 2010 and worked towards crafting this cohesive and dynamic second outing. The new material showcases the band’s creative expansion, and the members of Black Tide collectively worked on writing the album together over the past two years, honing their skills

Iconic rock front man of the influential band Hanoi Rocks, Michael Monroe, releases his new cd which was produced by legendary producer Jack Douglas ( Aerosmith, John Lennon, Cheap Trick). The cd also features guest performances from country star Lucinda Williams and Motorhead front man Lemmy. The first single and video from Sensory Overdrive is the track “78”. In support of the cd, Michael will head out September 30th on a 16 date U.S and Canadian tour with his all star band featuring guitarists Steve Conte (New York Dolls) and Dregen (Hellacopters, Backyard Babies), bassist Sami Yaffa (Hanoi Rocks, New York Dolls, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts), and drummer Karl Rockfist (Danzig).
