Dist: Universal Music Canada
For this project, music icons and pop culture visionaries JAY-Z and Kanye West have joined their extraordinary talents to form the group ‘THE THRONE’ and confirm the most anticipated album and touring event of the year, WATCH THE THRONE.
The longtime friends and music innovators inspired each other to new heights with their collaboration on WATCH THE THRONE recorded in person at various locations around the world. Though shrouded in secrecy, the album has already been heralded a ‘masterpiece’ by those who have heard it, and features production from The RZA, The Neptunes and Kanye’s longtime collaborator Mike Dean. The short list of featured vocals includes Frank Ocean, Beyoncé, Curtis Mayfield and Mr. Hudson. The production is classic Kanye West soul, with the two MCs trading couplets over a sample manipulated the way only West can. “Sounds so soulful, don’t you agree?” intones JAY-Z, and the two launch into a treatise on swagger, claiming their rightful place at the top. Since the track’s release, the flood of praise for the track has been nothing short of deafening.

Dist: Universal Music Canada
In the packed confines of clubs around their hometown of Chicago and throughout the world The Cool Kids’ irresistible, hooky rhymes and club cramming beats seamlessly bridge the old and new schools of hip hop while assuring them a sure-fire path to world-wide attention. Their songs “Mikey Rocks” and “88″ have been featured in the HBO series Entourage and the game NBA Live 08, respectively.
WAGONS
Rumble, Shake And Tumble
www.wagonsmusic.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada
The title Rumble, Shake And Tumble goes a long way in describing Wagons’ rowdy roots-rock style. Their unruly sound draws upon rock ’n’ roll, country, cabaret, psychedelia and soul, held together by Henry Wagons’ entertainingly twisted vision that fuses Leon Russell’s laidback cool with fellow Aussie Nick Cave’s noir hipness. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Wagons includes drummers/bassists Mark Dawson and Si Francis, guitarists Chad Mason and Richard Blaze, and keyboardist Matthew Hassett. The album bursts forth with massive open chord riffing in the Tom Pettyish “Downlow,” to reveal the swampy stomp of “I Blew It.” The dark country epic “Love is Burning” gives way to the cuss-laced-yet-tender “Moon Into Sun” and heartbreaking ballad “My Daydreams,” which finds solid ground somewhere between Neil Young and Roy Orbison.
ATTILA
Outlawed

Dist: Sony Music Canada
Attila is about to make this a nation of rebels with their new album, Outlawed. Produced by Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada), Outlawed flaunts the band’s gritty, fast-talking, swagger-heavy music that channels part Every Time I Die, part Emmure. “Our new album Outlawed is the raunchiest, wildest album we’ve ever made! For the new CD, we all agreed that we needed to go balls to the wall. It’s a huge step up from our last release, Rage! Outlawed is way heavier and catchier than anything we’ve put out, but we still kept the Attila sound that everyone has grown to love,” says frontman, Fronz.
