DISTURBED
Asylum
www.disturbed1.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

A decade after the release of their groundbreaking debut, The Sickness, Disturbed have become one of the most passionate and well-respected bands in the hard-rock universe, a dependable source not only of pummeling riffs and jackhammer beats, but of personal and political insights into our troubled times. Yet success hasn’t dulled this Chicago-based foursome’s taste for adventure. If anything, Disturbed’s loyal fanbase has pushed the band to newer heights of self-expression. Officially entering Groovemaster Studios in February 2010, the band set about self-producing the album, as they did with Indestructible. Draiman declares, “This record shows a certain degree of maturation and enhanced complexity. Asylum is still identifiably Disturbed, but the evolution is clear. It preserves the elements of what we do but at a more advanced level.”

GOO GOO DOLLS
Something For The Rest Of Us

www.googoodolls.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

Written and recorded over the past couple of years, Something For The Rest Of Us delivers another dose of great Goo songs such as “Sweetest Lie,” “One Night,” and “Soldier.” With his songwriting, frontman Johnny Rzeznik confronts some of the issues that have become part of many people’s everyday lives: “I wanted some of the material on this album to address the disillusionment of the difficult period we live in; I wanted to give a voice to the emotional uncertainty that accompanies hard times.”
The recording of the album took place in various studios in Los Angeles as well as the band’s studio in Buffalo, and during the course of events the band worked with a wide range of engineers and producers including Tim Palmer, John Fields, and Butch Vig. The result showcases more of the well-crafted songs and timeless lyrics that have been such an integral part of the Goo Goo Dolls’ continuing success.

JOHNNY REID
A Place Called Love

www.johnnyreid.com
Dist: EMI Music Canada

Johnny Reid is a darling of the country music radio format in Canada, yet he’s not a country artist. He’s a Scottish-born, Canadian-raised soul singer, who also happens to be a superb songwriter and entertainer. He has quickly become a superstar in Canada, and shortly, the rest of the world will also know all about him, as a U.S. release date is scheduled for early 2011. Johnny Reid has scanned over 500,000 albums in Canada in just 5 years!! A Place Called Love is his first (non-seasonal) studio album since 2009’s multi-platinum, Juno-Award winning Dance With Me!! The first radio single (Today I’m Gonna Try and Change the World) is already Top 10 at Country Radio and starting to gain A/C radio airplay.

PAPA ROACH
Time For Annihilation…On the Record and On the Road & To Be Loved: The Best Of
www.paparoach.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

Time For Annihilation…On the Record and On the Road contains 5 brand new songs & live versions of 9 past PAPA ROACH hits! The latest single from Time For Annihilation…On the Record and On the Road is “Kick In the Teeth”. Today also brings To Be Loved: The Best Of which features ALL of the Papa Roach HITS!

HEART
Red Velvet Car

www.heart-music.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

“Red Velvet Car” is the brand new studio album from Heart, their first in six years since “Jupiters Darling”. For this album, Ann & Nancy Wilson, the first ladies of arena rock have added an acoustic slant to a collection of songs inspired by the world around them, arranged for an assortment of strings including guitar, mandolin, dobro, banjo, fiddle, viola, cello and autoharp, all played by Nancy Wilson and the album’s producer, Grammy winner Ben Mink. However this remains instantly recognizable as a Heart album with Ann’s distinctive voice and Nancy’s trademark guitar style well to the fore.

LUKE DOUCET AND THE WHITE FALCON
Steel City Trawler

www.lukedoucet.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

On Steel City Trawler, Luke approaches his favourite topics -geography, love and the existential labyrinths of human understanding – with a classic rock ethos and a producer, Andrew Scott (Sloan), at the helm. The creative partnership was a gamble for both, but Steel City Trawler emerged as a cleverly assembled balance of Luke’s observation-driven commentaries on place, family and personal belief with the ABC’s of rock and roll.
Against the backdrop of industry and urban renewal, with bats in the attic and feet moving over city and country, the songs of Steel City Trawler emerged line-by-line, kilometer by kilometer. Steel City Trawler comes from the heart of the post-industrial landscape and mindset, where traces of rock eras past and present align with Doucet’s signature guitar chops.

CHAD BROWNLEE
Chad Brownlee

chadbrownlee.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

From the time he was five years old, Chad Brownlee had dreams of one day becoming a professional hockey player. Growing up in Canada, he quickly developed a love for the game and in 2003, was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL entry draft. After a year of playing in the minor leagues and battling with injuries, the decision came to hang up the skates, like a hand pulling on his jersey saying, “Follow me”. It was something he had never imagined doing, but he was driven to pursue a career in music. Since his exit from professional hockey, Chad has teamed up with Multi Award Winning CCMA, BCCMA and SOCAN Songwriter, Guitar Player and Producer Mitch Merrett. The debut self-titled album features the hit singles “The Best That I Can (Superhero)”, “Hope” and the current single exploding at radio now, “Hood Of My Car”.

EELS
Tomorrow Morning

www.eelstheband.com
Dist: Fontana North

The final installment of a trilogy that started with 2009’s HOMBRE LOBO and 2010’s END TIMES (released a half year from each other), TOMORROW MORNING finishes the story on a high note. Following a four year gap between EELS studio albums, HOMBRE LOBO (June, 2009) dealt with what Everett called “The before. The hunger that starts everything.” Conversely, END TIMES (January, 2010) tackled what he called “The after, and how you deal with the aftermath.” TOMORROW MORNING (August 24, 2010) is “The redemption,” he says. “A new beginning and another chance. The blooming of all new possibilities. The hope that was always there coming to fruition.”

FABOLOUS
There Is No Competition 2: The Grieving Music EP

www.myspace.com/fabolous
Dist: Universal Music Canada

Back in March DJ Drama & Fabolous hooked up to deliver “There Is No Competition 2 (The Funeral Service)” mixtape, the sequel to Fab & DJ Drama’s 2008 project. This EP is comprised of 8 tracks, 6 of the best off his critically acclaimed mixtape and 2 previously unreleased Fab puts out some of the best mixtapes that you will ever hear, even so to the point where many critics believe they outshine his albums.

JENNY AND JOHNNY
I’m Having Fun Now

www.jennyandjohnnymusic.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice have been collaborating on and off for years, each contributing to the other’s solo records and live shows, but with this record they had a different intention: using their two voices in close harmony and playing practically every instrument themselves. The result is an eleven-song, thirty-five minute blast of whip-smart rock and roll.

AMERICAN BANG
American Bang

www.americanbangrock.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

American Bang has been crafted by a wildly talented gang of young rock ‘n rollers who’ve been playing together in assorted combinations all their lives. The son of a respected Grand Ole Opry drummer, Jaren Johnston (lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist) literally grew up backstage at Nashville’s illustrious Grand Ole Opry.
The band moved on to work closely with famed producer Bob Rock at his home studio in Hawaii. American Bang’s self-titled, loud, sexy, and soulful major-label debut album is a memorable and melodic introduction to the Nashville-based rock group. The album successfully captures all the amazing grace and guts of their deep musical roots and Southern accent. From the pounding and gritty opening of “Whiskey Walk,” to the instantly anthemic “Wild & Young,” to the messy, Stonesy romance of “Hurts Like Hell,” it’s clear that American Bang shoots straight at the heart of great American rock ‘n roll.

MURDERDOLLS
Women And Children Last

www.murderdollsband.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

Over 8 years has passed since the Murderdolls released their debut. Now they are back and more ruthless than ever. Lead by Slipknot’s Joey Jordison and singer Wednesday 13, Murderdolls have brought another hard hitting album. This first single “My Dark Place Alone” will appeal to Slipknot fans as well hard rock fans.

PHILIP SELWAY
Familial

www.philipselway.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

For Philip Selway, it’s a sideline solo project, mind. The morning he talks about his record for the very first time, he still has to leave for a rehearsal down the road by an acclaimed Oxford-based band, named Radiohead, for whom Selway has drummed immaculately and imaginatively for the last 20 years. And with the admission, “It’s a cardinal sin for drummers to come in to rehearsals with the comment ‘I’ve got this song’!” he knows the time has come for his songs, put on ice when drumming took over in his late teens, to emerge into the light. “When you’re the same age as the Prime Minister, you think, I’d better get on with this,” Philip Selway grins as he acknowledges the new sea change in British politics but popularity is generally a passing phase while your first album-that’s forever. Knowing time waits for no one, he has delivered Familial, a collection of sublimely fragile, haunting, and heartfelt songs that will surprise many, and not only because drummers traditionally don’t do this kind of thing. Familial is so persuasively good, it sounds like Selway has always been a singer-songwriter.

10 YEARS
Feeding The Wolves

www.10yearsmusic.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

The aptly titled result – Feeding The Wolves – thunders out from their storm-charred legacy as the heaviest album 10 YEARS have made in nearly a decade, a gift to loyal fans long promised darker hues from the Tennessee band, and maybe a much needed ‘opening’ for a rock world starving for some kick-ass direction, of late. Ominous songs such as “Shoot It Out,” “The Wicked Ones,” and “Now Is The Time” sound and feel as if they can stop bullets, spreading the kind of musical shards and shrapnel that only a band in peak, 10 Years’ condition can deliver. The first single is “Shoot It Out”.

TEN KENS
For Posterity

www.tenkens.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

For Posterity, the second album from Toronto four-piece Ten Kens, is the result of an intense recording period, where the band aimed to achieve a specific balance of sound to make recordings that were dynamic and powerful yet simultaneously raw and organic. Ten Kens have pursued a distinct artistic vision that takes inspiration from a range of disparate genres, from the meditative experimentation of psychedelia to the immediacy of hardcore, steering them towards a bold new sound that is truly unique.

THE GRADUATE
Only Every Time

www.thegraduatemusic.com
Dist: Sony Music Canada

Formed in 2005, The Graduate quickly amassed a dedicated fanbase with their atmospheric, emotional brand of rock. Their self-released EP was the #1 most added album at CMJ (also landing the band in the magazine). After hitting the midwest tour circuit, The Graduate released their debut album “Anhedonia”. The band lived on the road for the next two years, touring with Jack’s Mannequin, Secondhand Serenade, Mayday Parade, Simple Plan, plus stints on warped and lollapalooza. After their label imploded, The Graduate soldiered on and caught the ear of Razor & Tie. The Graduate signed with the label in 2010 and hit the studio with Brian McTernan (Thrice, Circa Survive, Senses Fail) to record “Only Every Time”.

COMEBACK KID
Symptoms + Cures

www.comeback-kid.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

Comeback Kid will release their fourth studio album ‘Symptoms + Cures’ through Distort in Canada on August 31st, 2010. Produced by Eric Ratz (Cancer Bats, Billy Talent) and Kenny Luong (Cancer Bats, Billy Talent), ‘Symptoms + Cures’ features 11 tracks packed full of what every CBK fan has come to know and love; anthemic choruses, stadium-sized gang vocals, and heavy melodic riffs. Having switched to vocals from his role as guitarist during the ‘Broadcasting’ recording sessions in 2007, Andrew Neufeld truly embraces his current vocation.
