POCKETBOOK 360°
POCKETBOOK 360°
FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO KEEP IT SIMPLE AND DO SOME READING!
Sometimes the best way to critique a product is not to critique it at all. Sometimes it is just better to leave it alone and instead report on the experience others have by just stumbling upon it and trying to figure it out for themselves. After all isn’t that what all this new technology is for – To make our lives more enjoyable? If so, how can it be more enjoyable if you have to spend a week over a manual trying to figure how to operate our newest purchase?
So we decided to remove the responsibility of being the “lighthouse user” and instead donned the hat of simply the “reporter”. It was an easy task really, considering the Pocketbook Reader is quite accurately just that – a perfectly sized device that fits comfortably in most pockets making it easy for us take it along anywhere we went. And because the design of the unit includes a stylized clip-on screen cover which works reversibly to store clipped on the back of device during usage, we never worried about any damage or scratching.
Because it includes a G-sensor/Accelerometer that makes it readable in all manners of holding (and dually suited for left handed or right handed users) can be used automatic or manually activated, we made sure it was left wherever we set our trap in the automatic mode.
The results of our experiment were consistent: The device is naturally intuitive and everyone who touched it dominated it in mere minutes. It is so easy to use the average person was commanding it with authority and became instructors to others by shear natural ability. Results were the same whether it was a child, teenager, parent or and elderly person.
This is what makes this unit such a great value, because once you get over all the bells and whistles you’ll probably want to do some reading. And you can do some serious reading with the Pocketbook 360 as the pages change as fast as a flip and the battery life is remarkable.
Some people may be willing to spend more because they want as many features as possible (unfortunately the Pocketbook 360 doesn’t have a touch screen or wi-fi capabilities-their other models do) but who wants to spend money on something too intimidating to pick up.
We on the other hand think it’s a great device just the way it is, because it is for readers first and we are certain as we experienced in our tests, if you leave it out it will get used. From your infant nephew just learning to read to your eighty year old aunt with sight impairments, it’s no harder than reading a book!
